Selecting work

Types of portfolios: there are a range of potfolios from digital ones to the traditional portfolio books. you can put your work on a DVD's and CD's.it is more benifitial to have a online portfolio or a disc as it is easy to look at and you dont have to carry it around, also it cant get ruined like a book.

I personally think that a client would prefer to see a book portfolio though as they can then see your art work in person and know exactly what it looks like,  and if it looks the same in person,.

You have to select work for a portfolio as you will want to show your best work and it wouldnt be practical to carry around all your work with you and show it as it would take ages to look through it all.

i rekon you shouldn't just select finish work as it's nice to see how you work in progress and how you develope your pieces.

somtimes you can include written infromation if its difficult to understand what the piece is. or to show a bio about you

Portfolios can be used for all types of reasons. It can be to showcase your work, to show information all about you including your other sites , and to demonstrate your skill. It can also be to pitch your work or to sell your work.

how to tell what is your strongest work is by asking your family and friends what they think, or jsut by knowing what artpiece you have done that you feel passionate about.
